The NAZI hunter Simon Wiesenthal died on Tuesday after a lifetime of hunting down, against considerable opposition, those who perpetrated the murder of millions of Jews, Gypsies, Communists, Slavs, the Mentally and physically handicapped, and in the end Catholics.

He may not be a hero to everybody, but he certianly helped a lot of people see justice done for a terrible crime.

    May he rest in peace

I would also like to record my admiration for this man.

Its a funny old world we live in.
This man dedicates 60 years of his life to a just cause and gets a two minute slot on the news.
If he was a celebrity who refused to give an autograph or soap opera actor who had died the news media would be prattling on for weeks.

It was the same when Mother Theresa died after a lifetime of selfless work.

    See no reason why Overkill.

Yes a great man, a quote from him (may not be exact) I can forgive my persecutors, but I cannot forgive them for the millions that died.

    Some of his quotes here.

    May find peace.

Just some people saw him as a controversial figure Garret.

Not me I hasten to add. Just a pity he didn't catch even more of them.

    Agree with all that.

very poignant and good link garrett

Has this not happened in the balkans in the 1990's?

Does this not happen in africa every day?

I feel privilidged(lucky) to be born in this country but worried for my children.
