    CaM,

An owner of a DMF posted his thoughts on the AVS site about the upgrade to 2.13 (he also went from 2.10) and was delighted with the results.

There were improvements to colour and brightness.
The real leap however was with 4:3 mode where he said the picture clarity had been greatly improved.

I upgraded my HT300 recently to 2.13 and the improvements to picture, particularly colours are fantastic.

    A worthy upgrade.

    Hope this helps
    Regards

    :)

thanks for that update - I thought things looked better...but you can never be sure whether its wishful thinking or not. I'm glad to know I'm not alone on this.

I also get less of a triangle effect now because of my projector being slightly of centre.

    bye for now

Do you have access to the download site for the 2.13 upgrade. I have 2.10 on my ht300+ and based on posts it sounds like the 2.13 is a worthwhile upgrade (unlike 2.12). I've tried e-mailing Alan Roser but no reply... PM me if it is considered sensitive.

    Spikey,

Have you had a chance to check out the interlaced performance yet? I'd be Interested to hear if your findings are the same as mine.

    Hi chips,

Haven't got round to it yet :(
Watched loads of films on my current settings and can honestly say that I'm really happy.
However I still want to see interlaced after what you have told me so over the next Bank Holiday I'll give it a go :)

Did you keep yours on interlaced or let your Tosh do the hard work?

    Hope you're well

    Hi spikey,

Well, I have been using mainly interlaced, but watching Startrek Nemesis last night I noticed some nasty jaggies in the many scenes where Picard's bald head is in front of a dark background. Switching to progressive on the 9500 cured it! So yes, it seems that the Tosh still does a better job of de-interlacing than the HT300's internal faroudja ;), certainly with Picard's head anyway :D.
