The 4 pin adapter on the case that plugs into the same power as the floppy, and the 2 pin power switch plugging into the 2 pin case, as well as the usb causes the system to crash, or makes the pc powerless (will not turn on).

If you take the 4 pin cable out for the VFD screen it works fine.

This is using the following setup

LN12036 331 Intel Celeron-D Socket LGA-775 (2.66 Ghz, 256k Cache, 533mhz 90nm) Retail + 3 Years Warranty £44.26 £52.01

LN12252 Asrock 775Twins-HDTV S775 ATI Xpress200 DDR667/400 PCI-E ATI X300 VGA SATA Lan USB2 6Ch Audio £37.00 £43.48

LN9871 512Mb DDR2 PC2-4200 533MHz non-ECC 240 DIMM unbuffered CL4 Retail £18.89 £44.39

LN10235 Hauppauge WinTV-Nova-T MCE Freeview receiver PCI OEM (1070/DVB3P) £44.00 £51.70

LN11643 SilverStone "LASCALA" LC16S-M + VFD IR (Silver) Aluminum Front & SECC Body Desktop case (w/o PSU) £159.95 £187.94

Help would be most gratefully accepted!

Have you connected it to the fllopy power supply cable directly from your PSU, or from the cable provided by Silverstone (on the MBO 20pin cable)?

Still not got the VFD working. Connected either ways as said above makes the system short or no power at all. Using a 400w psu, really cant work out whats wrong. Maybe faulty VFD?

Hmm I'm not next to my machine...But I am pretty certain I didn't have to connect any floppy power cable...If my memory serves me right...The VFD gets powered through the USB header....The infrared receiver is patched in the powerloop through the special cable supplied....
I had no startup (like shorting) once and finally figured out that I used the Firewire headings instead of the USB ones..And also not all are correctly wired for USB headers so you may have to manually lift them out and adjust for your motherboard....

Furthermore it needs the software loaded for the first time to display something...There is no startup message when you switch it on, so it looks like it isn't working until the software is installed....The message that stays on there is more like a poweroff message which is left because of standby power...

Hope this helps a little....
