Unfortunately us normal mods don't have the ability to edit polls (maybe Supremods can but I'm not sure) so can I ask you to start a new thread and get everyone to vote again, then I'll delete this one.

Hairline cracks have appeared after just 12 days of moderate use.

I reckon unless this is sorted REAL QUICK Sony might just have a PR dilemma on hands that might have even surpassed their own little expectations...

I know this poll was started in good faith, but you can only register once which means that people who at first register non-faulty HD5s but later become faulty cannot ammend their initial response...

I noticed cracks on my silver hd5 after just 6 days and after only charging it once! And to top it off there's definately a hiss in the background when playing music!

I had a slight hiss, but then I realised it was actually the song which didn't sound that good as every other song has crystal clear sound

yeah its probably your audio files.

my mp3 is crystal clear no hissing apart from the odd pop here and there [which is on the files].

listen to blink 182 - violence , now theres some hardcore hissing on purpose for you!

For this poll to be more representative I would suggest that it should really only be for people who have had there NW-HD5's for at least a week.

From around 70% with cracks after about 15 votes this poll is now moving toward 50/50.

I'm not sure exactly the reason for this but it could have something to do with users registering their vote and then cracks subsequently appearing.

Alternatively it could be that this reflects the scale of the problem.

Or it could be a bit of vote swinging by interested parties.

I think a new poll asking for votes after 10-15 days ownership would be more appropriate.

There are quite a few people who have viewed this thread who have joined this month and don't have any posts against their names, but unless the poll is public there is no way that you can tell who has voted. It might be worth setting a new one up ?
