Ive been toying with buying Sky + for a while as id like to get decent quality recording of programs and hopefully back them up to disk. I know from previous questions that you can hook up a dvd recorder to the machine,

    * I assume you could also use a computer ?

The silly bit of the question is could you tansfer straigh from the Sky + box to an mp3 player or similar assuming its big enough and it allows information other than just music files to be stored. My computers in another room so trailing cables everywhere isnt ideal.

    Many thanks

The only output from a Sky+ box is real time video. So anything you record on to has to have a built in encoder. The easiest way to transfer programs to another room is to use a DVDR and transfer the discs.
