Is the viewfinder the LCD screen?

Ive noticed that some camcorders have either a blcak & white or colour viewfinder. You can't tell me that some camcorders still have black and white LCD screens. :thumbsdow

The viewfinder is the small window you look through when you hold the camcorder up to your eye and is different to the LCD screen which you view by holding the camera away from you.

A lot of the lower end camcorders, whilst using a colour LCD, only use a black and white viewfinder. This helps to keep the prices low as colour viewfinders are more expensive to make than black and white ones.

I'm not aware of any camcorders that use a black and white LCD screen, although I suppose there might be a really dirt cheap one out there somewhere which does.

    Hope this helps.
