Whichever offers you the best deal and warranty - both are owned by the same group.

Me neither. Would never buy anything oif any value (read over £20) from such a bunch or ******s. They don't know what the word customer means let alone how to look after them.

I bought a 27" Thomsom LCD from them week before last and it was faulty. Turnbed out they had already soild it once and had it returned (I guess for the same fault) but still wnet and re-sold it to me

Don't touch 'em. Do yourself a favour and find another price (Sevenoaks? AV-Sales? Nexnix?)

The Currys by Ikea in Birmingham is /still/ selling the series 4 Panasonic with a tuner for £6999. I asked to speak to the manager to ask what the fudge he thought they were doing as that was double the going price.

I too wouldnt touch Currys or Dixons group - they offer nothing but rip-offs and clueless staff.

    Thumbs up to Comet though!

When I last visited Sound and Vision recently, the advice I received from one salesperson was:

"Don't take any notice of what is said on AV Forums, most people who contribute to AV Forums live in bedsits, are on £10k a year jobs, think they know all about AV systems and talk c**p. They will probably never buy a plasma screen or any of the gear they profess to know all about."

    I wasn't impressed.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, the salesman in question, myself and eveybody on AV Forums. What I didn't like was how the salesman came across - that his opion was the the only one worth listening to and most other people have little or no knowledge of the subject. He also named some other retailers and commented that their salepeople had the brainpower of a sponge.

I have bought from S&V in the past and during my recent visit I was initially asking the salesman about a problem I was having with a piece of equipment bought there two to three years ago.
His answer was: "Somebody up there is telling you it's time to buy a new one."
Not great after sales help IMO.

I'm sure many people have bought from S&V and been very happy. Possibly the other salesmen there have a different attitude with the customers. I didn't take to this salesman's attitude so I took option A. - I hit where it hurts. I left and took my money elsewhere.
