    Hi all,
I have just decided to get a DVD Recorder with hard drive, but I need to get one that does not make a noise. Does such a player exist or will I have to put up with the noise of a fan.
Can anyone surgest a good player that is quiet please?
I have been looking at the RDXS32 but read it is noisy.
I have also been looking at the Lite-On LVW5045 any opinions would be welcome .

    Many thanks

I'm very pleased with how quiet my Panasonic E85 is. Most of the time I can't hear it at all. When the room is really quiet - e.g. late at night with everything else switched off - I can hear a faint low pitched rumble, which I guess is a slowly rotating fan.

However, I can hear it when there is a disc in the DVD drive - a bit like the sound you get when you put a CD in a high speed CD-ROM drive in a PC, but not as loud.

I have the RD-XS32 - have had it for about 3 weeks now.

Very impressed with all aspects of it.

As for noise, there is some fan noise, yes, but in all honesty you can only hear it in a silent room. With the TV on you won't hear it.

For comparisson, the XS32 fan when doing anything is no louder (probably quieter) than my VCR was when playing a tape.

If you have the TV turned down you 'may' hear the fan, but it's not intrusive and certainly shouldn't put you off what is an excellent choice of DVDR.
