The European Image and Sound Association (EISA), representing roughly 50 specialised audio-visual magazines from 20 European countries, has selected the Philips 42PF9965 as the best Plasma for 2003-2004 (and the Philips 30" LCD as the best new LCD).

How significant is this award and should I, as a prospective buyer, let myself be swayed by EISA's statement that the screen "gives the most detailed and lifelike images of any plasma TV on the market today"?
