Sick of having to change volume...

Probably a common problem... I have neighbours and I don't want to unnecessarily annoy them (mind you, they do play the trumpet!) with the TV being too loud. I use a Logitech Z-680 system for sound on TV, PS3, 360 etc. Now on programs and movies I set the volume so that I can clearly hear the voices, but when the loud parts of the movie start I find I need to turn the volume down. Of course when the dialogue starts again, I need to turn it back up. Is there any way that I can limit the top end volume without clipping it? Ideally I would be looking for a piece of kit that I can connect before the input on my amplifier to quieten the higher end volume without losing sound quality. Ideas? :lease:

Ok thanks. Pretty sure there isn't that setting on the Logitech. TV is received via Cable on a Dbox2. Volume options are "llrc" "ost" or "avs". Any idea what these mean?
