Don't know if you're interested at all but Shuttle are bringing out 2 new models of this little "aluminium cube" stype pc. The best thing about it is that it will have an AGP slot on board for the first time.

Ill check later when Im not as busy, but Im sure someone is actually doing one with 2 slots.....

now this would be great for a dscaler wintv type card and a decent ATI radeon 8500 for example..

    lets hope!

One supplier I know will have them when they arrive in this country are:

    http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/

I've used them before and they've never let me down. I think these computers (one is for an Intel based chip and the other for AMD) will be available in August. There is a news item about it on their web site

This looks good but a couple of observations re. it's usefullness for HTPC....

Assuming a decent video card in the AGP slot, what to use the single PCI for? Is the on-board audio good enough to dispense with the need for a sound card and stick in a TV Tuner?

Or if a supplementary sound card is required, would it be necessary to compromise and buy a video card with built in TV tuner (ie all-in-wonder etc.)

There's a compromise dilemma right there.

Also, those ports on the front are not only unsightly on a piece of A/V gear as they stand but if using on-board sound, the SPDI/F port will have a great big jack plugged into it and a cable wending it's way to the back of the receiver.

Finally, from the photos, it looks a little "fisher-price" and not up there with refined a/v gear.

    Otherwise it's an attractive proposition.....
