Ive been given a Shuttle SN85G3 or maybe SN85G4 PC (Shuttle * Products * XPC * SN85G4/V2 * Specification * Case)

I want to use it as a media PC. Obviously Ill need to upgrade the motherboard, GPU etc and was wondering if anyone knows what spec of motherboard I would be able to put in this PC.

Id like it to play 1080p video and install an SSD I think Ill also be looking for a board that supports an i3 to to keep the power drain down on the PSU, which may also need upgarding.

It would be helpful if anyone has had an experience with this spec of machine and the expressing their findings to help me get the baby up and running.

I had the P4 version of this machine a few years back.

The motherboard is a proprietary Shuttle design, it is not a standard off-the shelf item. It may be possible to fit a mini-ITX board in there, but I couldn't guarantee it.

I think they look the part, and would like to have carried on using mine, but the motherboard packed up and it just wasn't worth the hassle (for me) of doing what you're trying to do.

Good luck.
