    Hi Chalkdust,

    I have a Shuttle SB51G running:

    P4 2.55 GHz processor
    512 MB Corsair RAM
    80 GB WD HDD (IDE)
    HP cd-writer 9500
    ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
    M-Audio Revolution 7.1

and love the case for its size, looks and convenience.

    BUT

it is quite noisy. I have worked hard to voltmod the Radeon fan, replace the stock case fan and even stuck in a little Akasa paxmate sounddampening material, and it is now fine for a desktop environment - but it would drive me nuts in a HTPC environment... I think it comes down to what components you want to put in it though...

I am also in the process of building a HTPC and am looking at the LMP, DIGN/ACCENT cases as the best option. There are alot more choices of silent or near-silent components for fullsize ATX boxes (even a fanless PSU now!).

    Just my .02 worth...

    cheers,

    Martin

    Thanks biggygiant,
I think I may go the route with a bigger case as you say you can get a lot more into it. The LMP ones do look a good bet.
