    Are the US and Canadian versions of the Shrek disc the same?

    Future Entertainment lists a lot more extras for the version they're selling than Play does for theirs.

    For instance, Future's disc contains "A Donkey's Tale" readalong, Play's does not.

    Here is the comparison from the rewind database. It could be that the extra you list could be bundled into the DreamWorks Kids section and not listed seperatly.

    OVERALL : R1 - it's the ultimate Shrek package being a 2 disc set and including a DTS soundtrack. The international press release for the R2 says "Custom crafted for the international market place", which sounds like the marketing way of saying "You're not getting as much as we are!".

    However, please note that many of the additional features available exclusively on the R1 version are designed for children. If you don't have any children and are buying for yourself then the choices are more even. Your decision ought to be based more on cost.
