DVD Box Office shipped mine yesterday.

I ordered solely on price, so it was a pleasant surprise to see it ship so soon, having said that I understand DVD B/O orders can take a while to arrive.

What's money? I decided to order it from Future Entertainment, just to test the waters with them cos I've never used them before.

Hasn't arrived yet, but my bank statement has! Oh dear...

Well, when one orders about 20 discs a month, saving between 1 and 4 pounds adds up to a fairly hefty saving. As an aside the constant orders means I really couldn't care less how long deliveries take: a new disc pops through my letterbox pretty much every other day.

wish I could make my friends see this, but nooooo! They prefer to be ripped off on the high street.

    Lovely m8y :D
How many disks do you have now?
    I've just gone passed 300!!!!!! :)

I think Shrek (maybe Tomb Raider too) will be my last DVD till after Xmas. Then I might finally get some disks I want for Xmas instead of the usual crud...

I got my Shrek from Movietyme yesterday and wathed it last night..... very nice. I'd seen it at the cinema but watching it again was just as enjoyable - one of the best pictures ever seen and sweet DTS sound.....

What can I say... AWSOME! Everything a DVD should be.

A+ Sound - DTS track is breath taking, perfect demo material
A+ Picture - Pin sharp , again perfect demo material
Hugely entertaining film - Very funny for both kids and adults

And the extras a whopping 11 hours!!!

    Go buy it!

    :D :D

My copy just dropped through the letter box this morning, from PLAY,
and the first thing I noticed is that the film on disc 1 is full screen,
although strangely all the extras on disc 2 are w/s.
I just hope this is not going to be the norm. And in my cynical world I
wondered if the studios are seeing how many w/s discs are sold,
compared to full screen ie The Mummy Returns and Cats and Dogs, before
they drop w/s altogether, or the take up has increased.
I hope this is just me being paranoid :( :(

    Hi,

I got my copy of Shrek from Play on Monday. Put in disc one and sure enough it is full screen. Was looking to switch on the DTS sound and it wasn't there !! Turns out the DTS soundtrack is on the 2nd disc which has a Widescreen anamorphic version of the film on it (probably explains why all the extras are widescreen).

Just as an aside - any found any easter eggs on these discs ??

Give the full screen disk away & kept the dts wide screen for myself.

great free present for the little ones who don't care if they get a box or not.
    ..........................I must be getting tight:devil:

I ordered my copy from Future Ent. Never used them before but had heard good things about them, especially in here. So I decided to test the waters and ordered on the day I started this thread. It ain't here yet. Play247 would have had it here by now.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. FutureEnt ain't getting any more of my custom, and my Shrek better get here soon.

    Hi Pointon

I phoned Future Ent and they told me that the orders for Shrek were sent out in Mondays post, so I should have it tomorrow.

Will wait to see what happens.

This is the first time I have used them, new to the DVD world and have only used Ezydvd and impressed that it only took 4 days for my DVDs to arrive fro Oz.

Yep, copy of Shrek arrived reasonably promptly from Play247 yesterday.

Came home, got the dinner sorted and then settled down to enjoy.

But wait, what's happening? The player won't load the disc?

Ok, don't panic. Try disc one, the fullscreen one. See if that works.

Nope even worse, this time it just says "Please Check Disc".

    Arrrggh!

The player is a genuine US R1 Magnavox player (no mods). The annoying thing is it plays fine on my PS2 (when using the excellent DVD Region X). Sadly my only DD decoder is built into the R1 player so currently I'm "enjoying" Pro-Logic from the Dolby 2.0 Stereo soundtrack.

To be honest it's not the first disc that's tripped up the R1 machine (Gladiator was another) but this is getting annoying....

Still no sign of Shrek this morning. Better arrive tomorrow.

Fishyben are you serious about receiving your copy from Future?

If so do you live next door to them. I ordered it from them on Friday and still no sign, think pointon is in the same boat.

Know it will be worth it when it arrives.

Received today from Future Ent after my email to them yesterday:

    Cancellation confirmed.

    Kind Regards

Please cancel the order below. This is the first time I have used your service after it was recomended to me as fast and reliable. However, I have waited long enough for something that was supposedly in stock. Please cancel my order and I will take my business back to Play247, who can deliver within a decent amount of time.

    Thanks

    Chris Pointon

I know. I'm one impatient git, but obviously my Shrek hasn't even been dispatched by Future Ent yet, which was the answer I was actually looking for. Never using them again. Went straight to Play and ordered it. Davy, I hope you are having better service than me.

Pointon my copy arrived on Saturday morning after I phoned them on Friday to complain that I had not received it, they told me that my copy was being posted that day, something to do with my credit card. I had told them when I ordered that it was due to expire and here are the new details.

May try them again, to see if it was a one off.

Excellent film with good extras. Liked the Karaoke in the swamp.
