    I know, couldn't believe it.

It's not that I don't like sequels, it just seems that all 'Hollywood' seems to be churning out now are sequels, re-makes and 'Comic Book' characters. I'd like to see a bit more originality.

Have to agree with Squirrell God on this!!
The first one was just a work of art, it had character, wit and had me in absolute stitches. Cant wait for the second one to be released. Hopefully be better than the first.

Sometimes they are. Toy Story 2 was better than Toy Story 1. Evil Dead 2 was better than Evil Dead 1. Austin Powers 2 was better than Austin Powers 1 ....

But then they go too far. Austin Powers 3 was worse than one or two.
Return of the Jedi, while a good movie, for some reason had those annoying ewoks as a large part, didn't need anythin like that in the first two.
Hellraiser 3 was utter c**p. Alien 3, messed up there.

Some times the trilogy works, sometimes they just rehash all the old gags (action sequences etc) time and time again.

this is proof of the old addage "diffrent strokes for difrent folks" it all comes down to personal preference I have seen many sequals in my time and my favourite (in that I thought it was better than the 1st) was back to the future 2 which was just like BTTF 1 but was set in the future and incorporated lots of back and forth time travelling two of my favourite subjects

PS if this doesnt make perfect sense you will have to excuse me as I have 3h25mins left of a 12 Hr shift

I love BTTF 2. Didn 't think it was as good as the first, but came pretty close. Never that keen on BTTF 3 though.

Speaking of trilogys, I'm positively delighted to hear they're making a Re-Animator 3.

Ahh... Re-Animator. Does it get ANY better than that?

The first one is good. I just picked up the Millennium Edition and was surprised at how good the transfer was. Was shocked by the full bit-rate DTS soundtrack too, even if it is overkill in this case.

    I've never seen Re-Animator 2 - worth getting?

Um... well, depends if you REALLY liked the first one. I mean, all the original cast is there, which is good, but it's.. lacking.

Still want it on DVD though. I got the Millenium Edition too. Love the commentary; "I'm so very, very proud of this movie". Touching.

Thanks. I don't think I liked the first one enough then :D I'll pick it up out of curiosity if I find it cheap though :smashin:
