Looks like all the campaigns vilifying speeding motorists are a bit of a mockery.

It seems that all our road tax and especially speeding fines and been a charade by the goverment and local authorities who claim its to save lives ...... yet they have not maintained the roads and underspent on substandard materials - meaning that many more people have died in accidents.

If they REALLY had saftety in mind, why is it that areas with sub standard roads accounted for an EXTRA 900 deaths over areas that maintained there raods well.

3,500 people killed on the roads in 2003

Government fiddled maths say that 30% is due to speeding = 1050

    Motoring associationgs says its 7% = 245

people killed because they can't be bothered fixing the roads = 900

and thats just deaths - what of all those non fatal costly accidents accidents .....

So - primary cause of accidents on the roads today in Britian - not speeding - its our own Goverment and councils robbing us blind and not spending the cash on the roads.
