I've just finished putting up a draper luma high contrast 92" screen and have noticed quite a few ripples or bulges. is this normal for a new screen or should they be perfectly flat?

I'll see if I can insert a picture, as I've sent some to the retailer where I bought it.

OK, I can't insert picture, some help needed!

    Thanks

it should be flat...however, there are so many crap screens circulating (im on number 4) that it beggers belief that something isnt done in production!

do not stand for any ripples etc, send it back, get replacement

    Thought as much.
I'll be speaking to retailer today. They were very helpful when I chose the screen, i'll see how they are now.

    Thanks

OK, so I've had a reply from the retailer, discount electrical uk, and have been informed that this is 'common' with new screens and the bagginess will 'disappear' after a few uses.

Are they yanking my chain?!, and if not, how long should I wait for the screen to get flat?

its common with poor screens alright...ive had 4 screens, ones that developed ripples got worse, ones that started with ripples never went. if you look closely, im betting that on the bar at the bottom you will see slight pinch marks where the weighted bar has not been put on very well

    Hi,

Sometimes it indeed helps for minor ripples to leave the screen completely rolled out. However, if the ripples don't dissappear within about 48 hours, it won't get any better and you need to get it exchanged.

    Best regards,

    Otto

Thanks for all your feedback. It just confirmed what I thought. I have left the screen down for most of the weekend and it hasn't made much difference.
I was hoping it would, as it was not easy putting it up with the help of my son 10yrs old and I really didn't want to go through that again!

The retailer has agreed to swap it, once he looks at the photo.

    Thanks
