hi there, I've been looking at the way the gold bar on my Quad 12L's connects between the high and low and I dont like it.

Do you think I would be better of

1. leaving the bar where it is

or

2. replace the bar with a little bit of silver aniversary cable at both ends. This way my speaker cable (silver aniv) would at least fit better in the connections without the bar.

or

3. biwire my speakers

or

4. buy some kimber jumper cables (4tc with what configuration?).

thanks for your help :)

It most certainly is! Elsewhere in these forums you'll find some threads on this. Most of them seem to boil down to this:

* Gold jumpers are rubbish (being gold plated tin or similar).
* Replacing with speaker cable gives the same results as biwiring (this is questionable, I've never heard a difference).

Biwiring itself has been discussed at great length already and your number 4 isn't really any different to 2 unless you plan to upgrade all your speaker cable with it. Again, speaker cables are a point of contention :)
