Should i leave my Sky+ Box on 24/7?

    have the big massive ?v1 sky+ box with the black panel in the middle.

    is it ok to leave the box on all the time or should I turn I put it in standby after use?

    *dumb question* does it still record in standby?

    thanks for any help

    I don't think it matters to be honest.

    The drive spins all the time and it does record on stamdby.

    The latest update spins the HD down when the box is in standby, when a recording is imminent the drive is spun back up with the SKY+ still in standby.

    I have wondered if I should leave SKY+ "on" all the time to keep the HD spinning, I certainly prefer it that way. I am almost willing to put money on the HD not spinning back up after coming out of standby as being the cause of my SKY+ finally failing, now or in 6 months time:)
