    Hi Guys,

I am currently using the HDMI cable that telewest provide, what's the concensus of opionion in me investing in a new HDMI cable (better quality).

Do cables make that much of a difference in the quality of the picture output?

    Yours

HDMI cable problems are widely reported, but it's more go/no-go, rather than a quantitative difference like analogue cables. If a digital cable isn't good enough, you will see random noise-like speckles on the screen. If you don't have any problems, I think it's unlikely that a better cable will improve your picture.

From what I've read the quality issue only comes if you need a longer connecting cable. If the cable is only one or two metres a standard one should be OK.
