Advice and comments before the 10 th June please! I am sorely tempted to buy this tv from Aldi but before I jump in would really appreciate any info on reliability of Medion, potential pitfalls, what may disappoint me about the tv etc etc .

TNT is the french for digital terrestrial television and we have a few channels broadcasting in HD, which is what is really tempting me.

Thanks in advance..

Would you buy your groceries from an electronics store?

Best buy from an electronics retailer just in case there are issues down the road as your grocer might not be up to speed on the latest of TVs :)

Thanks for the comments so far. I think the thing that was attracting me was having an HD tuner incorporated at that price but if the picture isn't up to it.....

But more thoughts and comments would be good.

You are in the same boat as me. I live in Spain and people in UK don't understand the different culture in commerce.

Having said that, for that price, you can buy a much better LCD over the net. Medion is a really basic brand. The only positive thing about it is that it is German. Unfortunately, that's where it stops.

I'd steer well clear.

I bought a MEDION TV HAD IT FOR 8 years never been repaired the only reason i don't have it now is it was damaged .

To be honest, after a quick Google,Ive not read anything good about Medion.

Here's a guys comment on a 32"
Amazon.co.uk: Customer Discussions: medion lcd 32in tv utter rubbish

And someone else talking about a 40" Medion MD 30116 - Read Reviews

1680x1050 might give you an HD picture at 720 but its a 16.10 res so it wont look natural. It also seems a bit dull at 300cd/m2.

You'd be better off with a (cheaper)Samsung,if you can get hold of one, than this.

Good Luck,

KH

A MEDION TV IS EXELENT I HAVE HAD IT FOR 8 years probably would of lasted 10 + years except for damage to screen due somthing being dropped on it by accident .
