    Hi Fellow AV lovers,

I am still using the first generation Sony DVP-S7000 DVD Player. I'm very satisfied with it, however I suspect after 5-6 years, new technology may have turned my Sony to a mediocre player under todays' standards.

How is the Pioneer 565 like compared to my Sony qua picture and audio quality (both red book CD and SACD) ?
Can I connect the Pioneer to a set of stereo amplifiers? I know I won't be able to enjoy multi-channel SACD (I may upgrade my Amp in the longterm), but stereo audio is fine for me now.

Thanks in advance for your help
    Keith

At its price I think its one of the best. I've tried DVD Audio, normal CD, DVD's and MP3's and it has performed very well. I have an old Sony 525 which has been great, but the picture/sound from this beats it at half the old one's price.

    Cheers

    Dave
