Should a sub be set to 75dB or 85dB?

    Just wondering as i have all speakers including my Servo 15 at 75dB.

    If you're using internal test tones or Digital Video Essentials setup disc then balance to 75db. If you're using AVIA then balance to 85db. In both cases this is with the master volume at 0db and each will give you the same end result as AVIA is recorded 20db below reference whilst internal tones and DVE are recorded 30db below reference.

    Just to be sure, if using Avia i should set all speakers including the sub to 85dB?

    Thanks, i thought having the sub 10dB higher than everything else would be a bit too much.

    As long as all the other channels are balanced to 85db no problem. If you had them at 75db with the sub at 85db then it would too bass heavy (unless you like that!).:)
