Is there such a thing as shotgun/twin cable to single cable adaptor ?

My cable from the dish is twin cable with 2 f connectors on the end, however the input to my hd recorder is a single male uhf coax input. I have found f connector to coax adaptors but that would still leave me with 2 inputs cables for 1 input.

Any suggestions on what the best way forward is ?

Many Thanks

Sounds like you're trying to connect a satellite dish to a terrestrial receiver (freeview), which wont work.

You need a satellite receiver box to connect to the dish. If it's a PVR (recorder) it'll have two inputs to connect the two feeds to.

If your current receiver is freeview (as it sounds), then you need to connect that to a terrestrial tv aerial instead.

BTW the input on the back of the receiver should be female for an aerial to go into, and only male (antenna out) for a loopthrough connection.

To clarify one point, despite the name it is unlikely that the HD Recorder has a UHF socket (otherwise known as SO-239) which is not suitable for UHF applications. It is much more likely that it was the usual Belling Lee type.
