Shortening Component cable

I use an 8m Monster component cable for dvd, but I need only 6m after moving the equipement.

Q1. Will cutting off 2m improve PQ?

Q2. If cut, must componet cabel need to be in a specific length?

You risk worsening the PQ if you don't re-solder RCAs properly!

The cables can be any length you want, but you be better off loosing 2m than trying to shorten a manufactured cable.

I am an experienced "solderer".

Cutting off 2m would actually give me an extra cable...
And it is a monster vieo3 (stiff price, but I bought it used..)
