We've had a move around and i've been relegated to the small sitting room for my hc
Problem is my current pj won't fill the screen, infact it's nowhere near. Got 3 meters from the screen to the lens to play with. Does anyone know of a good quality lcd/dlp that will display a 80inch image with a 3 meter throw?
Ideally needs to have a dvi (hdcp compliant) or hdmi (can use an adaptor) and do 720p
    thanks in advance

I think the Sony Hs-50 will manage this... or certainly very close... but surely in a 3 metre room, you;re going to struggle to sit far enough back from that width screen?

I must have one of the smallest HC rooms... I measured a 5ft wide image (approx 66"x35") from my PJ position which was 9.6ft (2.92meters) when I demo'd it... so the infocus 4805 is a possibility and has a DVI port which is HDCP compliant + has just dropped in price from £1300 to £999!!! This PJ has been an all round star for it's price bracket for some time.... now at the new price it has to be a steal!... hence I'm hapy I have one :rotfl:

we have a AE700 2.9 metres from the screen which is 84 inch diagonal (16:9) it would go a few inches bigger.Iinitially I was worried that the screen would be to big so made a temp one, having used it for a bit am quite happy with the size

The Hitachi PJ-TX100 will project and image from 58" wide to 92" wide at that throw distance (according to the throw distance calulator at www.projectorcentral.com).

Nice projector too by all accounts - lots of service menu setting to minimise vertical banding, though it is very bright, so might need some sunglasses too.

This might be slightly off-topic  and there are probably plenty of other places to find similar stuff :) but I've just posted my experience of reducing vb on a tx-100 at
    http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=181602&page=2
in case it might be helpful. I'd value any comments / suggestions there.

I'm enjoying mine a lot - it's like going to the cinema with really nice surroundings - though I do miss the dark black from a crt in some scenes (but not the flicker, low resolution, small size, uneven colours etc.). I'm going to try a grey screen / black surround etc.

thanks for the link! very helpful. gives a realy good idea regarding throw/image size

    Dave, thanks for the suggestion.
Anyway, my short list is now down to these few:
    Sanyo Z3
    Infocus 4805
    Panny Ae700

I know the 4805 can be had for £999 now due to the price drop, but does anyone know of better prices for the z3 (969+vat) and ae700 (929+vat)

We have a 90'' diagonal screen from 3 metres back with a Sony HS50 and are really happy with it. Hope this helps.
