Shocking customer service

    I notice Scan get a lot of bad rep on here for bad customer service, but it seems good customer service is something PC resellers can not do.

    As some of you might remember my mobo and CPU died last month.
    The CPU I dealt direct with Intel and it couldn't have been any easier. I gave them the problem, some details off the CPU, within a day or two I had details of where to send my CPU back to (at no cost to myself) and once they had the CPU back I quickly received a brand new replacement.

    The Motherboard I had to deal with the place I bought it which was Aria. Within a few days of requesting an RMA I had the details. First hiccup was the link to download the RMA in their email was dead, but after emailing customer service I was quickly given the number. So all good so far. On the 16th September I sent the motherboard back to Aria and they received it on the 19th September. That's it. Almost a month now of several emails, posts on their forum and not a peep. No recognition that I exist at all.

    Shocking customer service. I've even emailed a customer service contact who prior to me sending off the motherboard responded straight away, but now my emails are just ignored. I'm going to have to phone them now but this is not what I expected from Aria. I've always defended them and recommended them in the past, I certainly won't be doing that again.

    ignoring customers is the worst :thumbsdow

    ive been fortunate to not have to send much stuff back in the past but amazon's customer service has been first class on the 3 things i have sent back so far and are the only company i can recommend in that regards. (famous last words i know...)

    That's the Email I used when I had trouble with their 'customer service'.

    Just double checked and the Email now shown is mailto:[email protected] so send to both, worse case one will bounce back.

    yeah their twitter and facebook is a great place to get noticed and responses quickly if all else fails.

    It really annoys me that you have to post something in the public domain to get good (any) customer service from many companies nowadays. Should receive the same level of service whatever the medium you choose to contact them but it seems that unless you cause a stir in front of prospective customers they don't want to know :thumbsdow

    On the other hand though there's nothing worse than being ignored by a company.

    Worse case get the Mb back then send it Direct Rma, what make of Mb is it?

    Yes. Ignoring your messages is just poor.

    You think they'd have the decency to at least acknowledge you.

    Even if it's just to say your not going to get a replacement.

    It was an ASUS and they do not deal direct. You have to go to the place you bought it from. Otherwise I would have dealt direct. :(

    That's what i had to do with my last Asus Mb Via Scan, Asus sent back repaired Mb's i went through 4 before a good one was sent back,they also took 4-5 weeks at a time:( that really did put me right off Asus due to there Rma even there communication support.

    Yea I hate bad service :( They are all happy to help and take money but when you need to return or have a problem they just don't help.

    PCworld and Currys are the worst! when you buy something like a tv and it breaks they tell you to get in contact with manufacturer :O I am like "I paid you for the product and you should deal with it not me"

    But yea I agree ebuyer , amazon are probably the best for returns .

    They seem pretty good on price and delivery was swift when I bought my GPU from them.

    I have used Scan for years and had to return items on 4 or 5 occasions. Each time was in person and their service was exemplary. I have never returned anything via the web which I guess is a completely different process.

    Finally had a reply on the customer service email today.

    No apology for the lack of response, just a 'we will let you know when our returns department know' sort of thing. I'll give it a few more days and then email Aria himself.

    It was about 2 years ago, so a bit late for that I think.

    I'll send Aria an email this weekend as heard nothing back this week from their 'Customer Service'.
