Warner Home Video has added three films to their release slate, all set to come to Blu-ray later this year. 'The Shawshank Redemption', rated one of the best movies of all time, 'Terminator 3', and 'Twister' have all been put on the release schedule. 'The Shawshank Redemption' will be released on a BD-50. No other specs or dates have been announced at this time.
Also of note, Warner will be releasing a 'The Best of Blu-ray: Action' set which consists of 'Alexander Revisited: (Unrated) Final Cut', 'Blood Diamond', 'Troy Director's Cut (Unrated)' and 'Wyatt Earp' and a 'The Best of Blu-ray: Family' set which consists of 'The Ant Bully', 'Happy Feet', 'Scooby Doo: The Movie', and 'Tim Burton's: The Corpse Bride' on the same day. Specs will be the same as the individual releases.

And while this is most likely an error, Warner also lists 'A Little Princess' coming September 25th. The 1995 version directed by Alfonso Cuarón is listed coming on a BD-50 with Dolby Digital surround. On the off-chance this is correct, you've heard it here first!

I'm going to try and be carefull not to turn this into a format war thread..

Firstly though do we really need a new thread for all of these releases? It's going to get very busy here with all the HD-DVD and BR releases in the run up to Xmas..

I presume most of these are also either out on HD-DVD or will be as well as BR? or are there any BR exclusives from Warner at all?

Except for the 'BR Best of's' I'm not going to make the obvious pun about when bands usually release a best of album ;) But are these going to be 3 films on one BD50  What effect will this have on quality?

Blood Diamond is out on HD-DVD and was either due out or is already out on BR with out the special features.. is it already about? Or is this 'Best of pack' the only release of blood diamond now expected on BR?

errr T3 is out on HD DVD already as is most of the other films on that list.

I already have 2 versions on Shawshank- but would happily buy a HD DVD / BD version

.... well I'll buy a HD DVD version- the blue boxes would never go with Shawshanky cover art.

Info is all fairly vague and unconfirmed yet but the Warner's 'upcoming' titles are listed here - unsurprisingly The Shawshank Redemption and Twister (does anyone care about this film!?!) are coming to both HD DVD and BluRay. There is no mention of Terminator 3 though which is surprising as it has been out on HD DVD for well over a year now.

Interestingly the Warner lists suggest that the current HD DVD exclusive titles will be released on BD. However the following titles are listed for a HD DVD release but not BD - could this be a typo or some other reason?
    - Batman
    - Eraser
    - The Green Mile
    - King Kong (1933)
    - Speed Racer
    - Superman II
    - West Wing: Complete Seventh Season
...guess we'll find out in time.
