    Hi all,

I thought I'd ask the nice people at Aquos when the next generation of LCDs will be out. The reply was that it will be about another 6 months. He also said that the GA5 was supposed to be the entry level LCD to run along side the GA3/4 but as we all know, everyone went crazy for them !

No specs out for the nwew panels at the moment though :(

Just thought I'd let you know.

    Richie.

Thats interesting as i believe general consensus is that the GA5 is a direct replacement for the GA3/4. Quite alot of conflicting stories, i'm not sure that even Sharp know what is going on at the moment :suicide:

    Rich,
That is right, you have only got to read the Sharp glossy brochure which has ALL the LCD's in it. It starts with the top of the range GD's followed by the GA3/4 and then the GA5. It is quite clear that they were all meant to be available at the same time and the GA5 was an entry level unit. Before I bought my LC-37GA4E I called Sharp ( last September ) and they confirmed they were all the same panel and you were paying extra for a seperate media box with the GD and less for the GA5.
Interestingly he also said the GA5 was due "any day now" and that was back in September. I guess the plan was that it was a full range which makes sense. As we all know now, they got it wrong, big time!

I was really just stating that the new panels are only 6 months away. An age to some maybe, but if you can hold out just a little longer it might just pay off.

Yes, I intend to wait if the LC32GA4E I have ordered never turns up.
