Hope someone can help. A friends' Sharp 28LF92H no longer displays all the picture - it looks like the image is being projected too far forward with top and bottom and both sides cropped irrespective of what aspect ratio is chosen. On-screen displays are also cropped with only the centre of an image being visible.
Is this something that can only be solved in the service menu and by an engineer?
    Help much appreciated.

The eprom IC in the set is corrupted and needs replaced.
This is not a Sharp designed and manufactured set but uses a "bought-in" Vestel chassis and is a well-known fault in the TV servicing trade on sets which use it.
The IC isn't too expensive...as a rough guide expect to pay around £50-£60 for the repair.

Thanks for the reply JayCee. Will advise friend to bring it to a service centre or the shop where purchased. Thankfully not the most expensive fault to have fixed.
    Cheers
