You've missed the rather large thread beginning here.

I'm afraid I'm still flitting through decisions now so can't advise from experience. If you want a 46" 1080p panel from a large manufacturer then it looks to be a toss-up between between the Sony W or X, the Sharp XD1Es and the new Samsungs. Might be worth tracking this thread, as it's starting to look interesting, along with the other various threads here.

If motion blurring is a problem with you, or you watch football i would hold out for a 100hz lcd, and there is loads of them coming out in the coming months from all the big brands. As i watch alot of football and motion blurring really annoys me, im holding out for the toshiba z series coming out in september which has 100hz, full HD, 24p and 3 HDMI 1.3to metion a few of its features:smashin:

And if you can wait until September / October then Sony should have a 120Hz model out.

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=499960

The only caveat with this is that, because 100Hz+ is a new feature for 40"+ screens, it will be expensive.

The Sony 40X2550 is going for upwards of £1750 in Japan where it has just been released. You can guarantee it will be more expensive when released here ...... over £2K I reckon.

With this in mind, I don't believe prices will reach reasonable levels until Summer 2008, so I'm going for a Samsung M86 or M87 at around £1000 to tide me over.

Maybe I can then buy my new 120Hz set in time for Euro 2008 !!!

I'm going for the 40" as I intend to replace it next year as per above.

However, these were the last prices I checked for the 46".

Worth reading that thread too, especially the FAQ on the 1st post.

Then later on the new technologies start to come out, buyers remorse sets in, and you'll never be happy. If all you re interested in doing is chasing specifications, you might as well not bother.
