I have recently purchased the Sharp LC32GD1E and am eagrely waiting for delivery. After reading some reviews I have mixed feelings as to whether I have made the right choice.

In my view it looks & sounds good but others have different views. I have read that there is potential picture degradation when running Sky, fans being noisy (on both TV & AV unit).

I know its a little late as i have now bought one but any thoughts on what to expect would be greatly appreciated.

    Don't worry!

You have bought a great TV, follow the settings recommended by other threads, and give it a few weeks use to settle down and you will get a good Sky PQ on RGB, and a superb DVD picture on Component or DVI. The higher quality the feed the better the PQ.

If you struggle with settings PM me.

Only the Phillips can rival the Sharps at this price point. Much better PQ than the Toshibas.......IMHO of course !

    Happy viewing.

    Thanks for that.

Nice to hear a bit of possitive feedback. Puts my mind at rest a little.

Are the setting up of these models intense or does the AV unit help?

No its straight forward through the menu system on the TV.

Get the PAL DVE and work through the disc, takes a while but worth it.

Try the posted settings first though you may be lucky !

Make sure you give us some feedback. I too am semi interested in a sharp lcd so any feedback would be welcomed, esp. on sky digital quiality because if this is above average then dvd playback should be excellent. What Tv are you upgrading from and how much did you pay for your lcd sharp?

Am upgrading from a Sony (old style).

I would let you know about connections however there was difficulty in delivery. I am going to post a separate thread relating to this as I am totally in the dark.

If for some reason I do receive this then i will gladly let you know.
