Can anyone tell me if its possible to bypass the media box on my Sharp LC30HV4E LCD and connect a DVD player (Denon 1910) via the DVI connection.
I assume thats what type of socket it is on the back of the Sharp, but I am not sure.

If its is possible, what sort of input options would I get when the LCD is turned on ?.

    Thanks for any info.

    I didn't think the LC30HV4E has a DVI connection.

    Hi,

I have contemplated the same thing myself.

I've seen these connections between the media box and the screen. They are definitely DVI connectors, and might work as PC DVI connections, but you would only find out by testing.

I think the chances that they are HDCP compliant are low though, and without HDCP the DVD player won't work.

It doesnt but thetuner attacje to the screen by a DVi type cable ( aPC should be able to cope) but unlikely Denon will work as it would need to match screen native res and refresh rate which i dont think it is possible to do with the denon
