Sharp HT-SL70 SoundBar - Buzzing Noise

Hi all,

I've recently invested in a new sound system for my home cinema. The system I bought is a Sharp Home Cinema HT-SL70 Sound Bar - not that I think it makes much of a difference.

When plugging in to my PC (which powers the projector and sound) via a 15m cable, a loud buzzing noise can be heard whilst the audio plays. The speakers have no internal volume and are controlled by the computer, which led me to believe that the volume was too high. However, even after lowering it right down, the noise remains.

I then plugged the speakers into an iPad, with the same 15m cable. This solved the problem. So at this point, I knew it wasn't a problem with the 15m cable or the speakers, and must have been to do with the computer. Yet, when I plug the speakers into the computer with a much shorter cable, the buzzing disappears.

Does anybody have any ideas as to what is going on?
Each individual component seems to be able to work, just not together.
Is it possibly a compatibility issue between the 15m wire and the computer? - Seems unlikely.

Many Thanks,

Ed
