at present i have my dvd connected to my sharp lc26ga4 via component lead 3rca to 3rca and with progressive scan picture is superb .At present the audio connection is via a red and white standard audio connection,my toshiba 340 has an orange audio out .
my question is before i buy a component lead or similiar orange to orange lead can this connnect direct to the sharp? will it improve sound ?or will this only work for an av amp
    thanks

The orange lead that you talk about is probably digital audio coax. I do not believe that the display model in question has digital audio input so this option is unlikely to be of any use in this situation. This option would be of benefit with an AV receiver or a TV that does have digital audio input.
