It's already confirmed as DVI + component and yes, DVB is part of the tuner/switchbox.

That was most likely the Saegm which is currently running a high-definition demo at Comet.

If you look at the Saegm set-up they're all connected to a PC to play the HD stuff. I'll be surprised if DVD or normal TV playback was anywhere as good. If it is it's an outstanding picture I must agree.

The Sharp site specifically seems to exclude Europe as a territory for the 45". Does anyone actually know whether it is coming to Europe, and if so, when?

The Toshiba 46" is a similar issue - only release details are for the US (it has v similar specs as the Sharp)

I can't see the point in spending £7,000 on a high def 1080p set when there isn't any hi-def material to take advantage of it yet. I'd rather wait til Blu-Ray's released or sky's hi-def service begins.

sorry for dredging up old threads but I'm about to lay the cash down for one of these to replace my ageing Panasonic TX47pt-1 rear projection set. cheapest price I've found is £4987 iirc but they only sell to business. However ivojo have it at £5119 inc vat so I think its a done deal. Saw this set at the best of stuff/what hifi show and admittedly they were feeding it a poor quality low def signal from a japanese dvd player that they didn't have instructions for ( according to sales guy ) the picture still looked amazing. Will post back in the next couple of days when I've got it up and running.

no not them. but good price though. I'm trying to get progressive AV to budge on the price they're offering cos they also have the DVD and amp I want. If not then I will be giving electrical world a ring.

edit got a pretty good price from progressive and they seem very willing to help so they've got my business. Should all be with me on tuesday.

Let us know how you get on with it when it arrives - show us some piccys  you know you want to ;)

I've been looking at all alternatives plasma/projector etc. but I have to say this set looks like it may have all the features I'm after, no burn worries (hopefully), HD, pc connection, its a tv so any one can use it easily :)

Its expensive but heck so is a 50" plasma and it doesn't offer the same res.

It has a seperate media box I assume? I've read some of the big threads over at avsforum about it where they have been doing all sorts with switcher boxes n stuff but reports have been good especially PC screenies.

45" PC monitor hmmmmmmm drool!

Those were pretty much my thoughts. I already own a 47" rear proj TV which doesn't look good with my mythTV box plugged in. I looked at hi-res plasma and to get something decent at a good size was pretty much the same price. As soon as its on a stand in the large hole left by the panasonic I'll get some pics up. I can't wait to get this thing up and running.

edit:: yes it has seperate media box with DVB-T and a pcmcia slot apparently
