    Seriously brilliant film.

Matrix style special effects in a Hong Kong film about football!!

    Well specified disc too.

    Seriously.

You guys are REALLY missing out if you let this film go.

It has good special effects and the DVD even has a white rabbit feature similar to The Matrix!

Best of all, it's a riot of a film.

    In DTS aswell!
I might give this a crack especially when considering how cheap it is from www.dddhouse.com.
I'm currently awaiting Battle Royale from them so I'll see what the service is like and if all goes well then this will be my next purchase!

I received this from dddhouse.com in about 5 days after ordering - yet another example of the fantastic service they offer.

As for the film - I'm with ONO all the way. This is one of the most amazing films of the year without question. It's AWESOME!

It's funny, moving, insane, dramatic and the effects are terriffic.
My missus has no time whatsoever for football but she won't shut up about it.
"The best film of the year" - she says. With the exception of Moulin Rouge I think i'm inclined to agree.

It really hurts knowing that the general filmgoing public will never get to see this classic movie. If only it had the distribution and marketing of say..Crouching Tiger......if only!

This is arguably the best £10 I have ever spent on a movie in any format and considering the film has a DTS soundtrack and a wealth of extras, it really is a bargain.

Go one..treat yourself and get ready to root for the Shoalin Soccer team Vs The Evil Soccer team. You know it makes sense!

I have heard it mentioned that Shaolin Soccer is going to be released on 5 April 2002 in the States.

Dunno if that means theatrical or DVD.

Oh, and I must have seen my DVD over 10 times now cos everytime I have guests I put it on for demo and end up watching all the way through!:D

Yes, I know that this is an old thread but it's worth ressurecting.

Just finally caught up with a region 3 copy of this film and it really is quite original and very entertaining.

What bothers me is that the US distributors are going to dub and re-edit the film to suit the american market.

Did anyone see what they did to Iron Monkey? The R1 version was a joke compared to the R2 copy.

Don't find out about this film after seeing some augmented version. Checkout the original copy and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I think there is a French R2 release, but as ever there are no English subtitles. The R3 is [unfortunately, if you need PAL] the best there is [and it's superb!!! And dirt cheap!!!].

One of my favourite films, EVER.

A friend recently bought me this when he was out in Japan (I asked him to get it for me). It's the Region 3 NTSC 2 Disc DTS version.

I watched it on my PC using PowerDVD 4 with the DD 5.1 audio and English subtitles.

Is it just me, or do some of the voices change part way through the film?

And can you play the Special version of the film with English subs? When I tried it I'm not sure which language it was, but it definately wasn't English.

Other than that, I completely enjoyed the film. Well worth it :)

My copy arrived this morning from CD-WOW along with Hard-Boiled. My DVD player really doesn't like it. It makes strange noises and one of the special features (NG something) refuses to work at all. The disc looks fine. Hard-Boiled and my other region 3 DVD, Almost Famous work perfectly.

Anyone else have problems or have I got a dodgy disc?

    Toshiba 520E player BTW.

    Thanks.

I don't know anything about Toshiba DVD Player so I can only tell you my experience.

I got this DVD from CD-WOW as well (few months ago) and it plays without any problem on my new 963sa (originally R2 with hack) and 5 years old Panasonic (originally R3 with hack), so may be is really your disc's problem.

I would just like to say, I love CD-WOW. I sent them an email about the DVD this morning, 2 hours later I get this reply.

Cheap prices, fast delivery (I ordered this on Wednesday, 2 days! that's faster that many UK suppliers!) and excellent customer service to boot.
