Hope you don't mind, but after listening again I think it sounds like you have put together 3 tracks to make 1 track. Hope this helps from a person whose favourites would be -- Supertramp, REM and The KIllers.

Wash you away is definitely a better track than Hey hey hey. Very good and I can hear all the words! Remember though I am no expert.

DDB I must say that I am amazed that your post has had over 100 views and I am the only person to comment. Come on watchers of the music forum have a listen and give these lads some feedback. I am sure there are a few of you out there that can give more constructive feedback than I have. Maybe?

Both sound good to me, reminds me of classic rock with a bit of 90s indie, I like the singers voice, he could do some decent punk/metal vocals with that gritty tone:thumbsup:.

Production is nice and clean, might just be me but I'd like to hear more thickness in the guitar, maybe double track it or add more bass/mids, I'm not sure, my production skills are zero.

It would be rude not to plug one of my one tunes while I'm here:laugh:, currently working on a metal version of Ellie Goulding's 'Burn'.
Ellie Goulding - Burn (Rough Metal Version - Rhythm Guitar only) by badchopsuey on SoundCloud - Hear the world’s sounds

Been trying to get into DAW's/recording and figured I'd start with a simple vocal acapella and work backwards, kudos to anyone who can lay down a clean track, it's hard work! Just drums and rhythm guitar for now, haven't done bass or solos yet.

That sounds really good! Not much of a metal person but that was great fun! do you gig? The whole reason we went into originals was that we started out as a covers band playing weddings and pubs and stuff. I always wanted to take pop songs and rock them up but the others were not that keen. Kind of fell into the originals in the end.

its interesting what you say about more thickness. Might be time to invest in some loop kit... humm

Thanks, I used to gig when I was at college and uni but that was 10+ years ago! We pretty much only done covers, Maiden, Metallica, etc...and the odd original tune. The bars we played were usually packed with friends/other students so are performances didn't have to be good:laugh:.

I still jam with a drummer who lives out in the sticks so we can play nice and loud, keep meaning to get something sorted, another Metal band or something.

I only started playing about with pop/metal tunes this week after seeing some mashups on youtube, I'm not a fan of Ellie Goulding, etc... but it's fun playing around with different genres.

This is the kind of thing I'm aiming for, only mine will be less professional sounding :rotfl:

A trick a lot of producers use is just re-record the track again, as a second guitar, it's pretty impossible to record a track exactly the same way twice and the small nuances thicken the sound. A lazy method is to copy&paste the guitar track and add some filters (modulation, slight delay...), that's what I done with the Burn track, worked out alright!

Forgot to say, you might want to post your tunes here:

Some good musicians/producers who could give you some useful feedback.

not sure if feedback is still wanted at this point however the drums might need to be quarantined and programmed to play on specific beats as it sounds a little out of time at the start and a bit clicky.
