Was thinking of buying Once Upon A Time In America, but it's donkey's years since I've seen it, and I really can't remember if it was any good, or just a 4 hour bum numb.

    Any opinions anyone?

    try renting it first.
Personally I've still got a widescreen copy I taped off BBC2 last year so I won't be bothering to pick it up until it appears in the bargain bins for £7.99.... probably in about 3 months time.

I find it's one I need to be in the mood for. Not every day is a meditative slow moving gangster flick day:zonked:

Cheers RJJ! That's what I thought I might do. I seem to remember it being excruciatingly slow going.

It is a superb film, but it is true, you must be in the mood for it. It is without doubt the best gangster film ever made.

All great films, but OUATIA beats them all.

You're right, it's not as good as the above films but it's still excellent.

The only bad thing about the DVD is that they put the disc change point in the middle of a scene.
