Not sure if there is a thread already but just got this lcd and was wondering what settings all of you were using. I have not had much time to have a mess about with the picture settings yet.

Mine arrives tomorrow [unless Currys let me down and I go ballistic] - those settings are geared towards coaxing the best HD performance from this set, does anyone have any advice for the best SD settings please? I've got V+ and a standard DVD player so for a little while most of my sources will be SD until I convince my gf that we should get a 360 or PS3..

    Thanks

now that people have had this set for a while now what are your settings to get the best out of HD-DVD via xbox 360 component.
I have tried the settings off the link above and do not really like them looks to dark.

Settings are always a matter of personal opinion, but that one quoted just doesn"t cut the mustard for me....far too washed out and dark for my money.
After hopping around various permutations in the last few weeks, I"ve settled on Normal, and then wacked up the contrast to max....the brightness at 80per cent, and the others in the middle..... But that"s my taste!!!! Just stick with what you like the look of!!

I agree those settings were too dark, but I think putting the contrast up to max washes out too many details in lighter areas of the picture and makes people look like they are pasted onto backgrounds. After fiddling for ages these are the settings I have ended up with:

    Mode Normal
    Contrast 85%
    Brightness 75%
    Colour 45%
    Sharpness 50%
    Colour Balance Normal
    Colour Management Off
    P-NR Off
