I've tried to look, and I know it's there somewhere, but I want to start archiving some VHS recordings to dvd (via the HDD on my Pioneer 420)

What is the most appropriate setting to use? I have Fine (1 hour), SP(2 hour), LP(4 hour) and EP( 6 hour)

    Thanks in advance

SP Mode would equate to original VHS recording, unless SVHS recording then Fine mode

Well, actually you have also 32 Manual modes from MN1 (6 hrs / DVD) to MN32 (1 hr / DVD).

So, really there is a lot of flexibility in that !
