Setting up Yamaha RX-V577 with Kodi help please

Got everything working fine and working great through my amp except Kodi which I've downloaded onto my Sony KD49X8307CSU.
Now audio through Kodi works fine though the TV speakers but as soon as I switch the TV over to allow my Yamaha to handle audio I get nothing through Kodi but I still get audio on all other apps on the TV, seems strange. Do you guys think its a problem with the app or a settting on the Amp, I'm a novice as this is my first amp.

this is an issue with how you have setup Kodi under settings, you need to ensure that the default sound settings are correct. Look on youtube on how to configure Kodi.
