If anybody out there has got a YAMAHA DSP-AX620 and the KEF 'eggs', could you please give me some ideas as to how to set them up. I have got sound out of all speakers in 5.1 but it seems lower than what I thought it would be. In other words I have to have the volume level at nearly full to get any kind of high volume out of the speakers.

Any advice would help, as Im new to the amp and seperates game...

This post was duplicated in the amplifier forum and you have had a response there.

Whatexactly does changing the output levels (db) of each individual speaker do? It goes from -10db to +10db will changing these have an effect on the 'loudness' or not?

Also is there any difference between co-axial and optical digital output for DVDs - I am using co-axial.

Also what exactly is this ' crossover' business? Im sorry but the
instructions that come with the kefs are miniscule to say the least...

The satellites handle the treble and upper mid range of the frequency spectrum whilst the sub woofer handles the lower mid range and bass.

The crossover is where the sats stop and the sub takes over which is probably somewhere between 80Hz and 120 Hz

Some other members who have the same speakers will tell you what crossovers they have set on their amps which you can use on yours.

    Come on you KEF users

I am very new to this game but also have a 620 amp. Try using the optical lead as I think I had the same problem with the co-ax connection.

    Hope this helps
