OK just got a Panasonic dmre55.

I am wanting to connect the following components together -

    Sky digital box
    Sony tv (no component connections)
    DVD player (Multiregion unlike Panny)
    Panasonic E55

NOw basically I am replacing my vhs with the dvd recorder......but............
which output on the skybox should feed into the dvdrecorder?
i.e. is the 'TV' scart out the only RGB out on the digibox? If so then I have to use that.
If I have to use the 'tv' out scart to feed the dvdrecorder does that mean I will have to have dvdrecorder on all the time if I want to watch sky in RGB signal?
If the 'vcr' scart output on the digibox is not rgb then I clearly don't want to feed that in to my TV either.
I have a 3 year old PACE digibox btw.

Is the av1 scart on rear of Panny an 'out' signal only?

Yes - if you want to record in RGB you need to use the TV Output. If the unit is in standby the RGB signal will pass through so you don't need it on all the time - although you'll benefit from Timeslip etc if you do keep it on.

It is RGB, S-Video or Video out or video in.

    Accordingly:
    Sky TV out >>>> AV2 on the E55 and then AV1 >>>> Sony EXT1
DVD Player RGB Out >>>> Sony EXT2

If your TV only have one RGB input then you'll need to choose between having the E55 or DVD player outputting S-Video.
