    ok sound is working fine.

    Am running Vista 64bit

Asus Xonar & Logitech z 5500 speakers via an optical cable.

Problem is when selecting the different modes via the Asus software...dolby digital..pcm... it doesnt change the sound.

This has worked before - but it seems to loose settings.

When clicking windows sound properties... theres icons for

    speakers (working)
    digital output (working)
    speakers (asus converter working)

digital output is selected as default. (is this correct?)

can somebody let me know the correct settings ?

Also what is the best settings in the Asus software... PCM... dolby digital live... then how many channels ?

Mainly listen to Video...dvd .... music .. and the odd games.

    thanks in advance.
