I'm totally new to all this. got a panasonic 37" viera yesterday. set it up to the panasonic dvd fine, but I can only get a picture through a cheap, non RGB scart. I've bought a component cable & plugged it in correctly, and adjusted the dvd settings for the component output but still no joy. it only works with the scart.
Is there something really obvious i'm missing? is there some way to adjust the tv settings for the different input??
Any help would be appreciated.

Im assuming that you have the scart and component connected
into AV4? Cycle through the various AV4 settings using the
coloured keys to display AV4C (Component). You cycle using the
far right coloured key, i think it's blue.

Various options will be displayed such as AV4, AV4S and AV4C.

This may be your problem, let us know.

I would add to the above just from personal experience on
my 42" viera, to set progressive scan to 'off' on your dvd
player to get a better picture. Unless you have a very expensive
DVD player with a good de-interlacer.

I personnaly found less screen noise using the panels de-interlacer.

Others may tell you different.
