Can someone tell me the best way to set the sharpness on a Sim2 pj. I've had three Sim2's now and they always seem to have the sharpness set at about 6 when you take them out the box yet whenever people talk about their settings they seem to have sharpness much lower than this. I've got a copy of DVE if that helps.

Also any advice on contrast setting would be appreciated!

    Cheers

Find a resolution pattern on DVE. The one I use is the Wide Screen Enhanced Resolution pattern on Avia.

Simply reduce the "Sharpness" setting (and "Filter" setting if you are using interlaced analogue signals) until you find the point where you reduce edge enhancement to a minimum. Edge enhancement can be seen as a thin white line around the edges of black lines, circles and numbers/letters on the test pattern.
