What make/model is the DVD player?
If it does component progressive use that not Scart.
If only Scart then check the DVD player is set to 16:9 not some 4:3 mode and is outputting in RGB not composite.
Do not mix up composite with component, composite = V Poor, component = V Good.
And do use a quality Scart cable.

Never heard of of a Denver DVD player, but do stick with HDMI, set to 1080 output and make sure the aspect ratio of the DVD player is 16:9.
If your DVD player can output or the TV accepts 1080p try that or else leave on 1080i.

Would the same settings produce much of a different image on a 37 than they would on a 42? I wouldnn't have thought so.

Maybe its just a case of what other people think looks good, you don't?

What do you find is bad with the picture?
