    Hi,

Got home from work tonight and my wife has bought the Matrix boxset, gobbsmacked.
Now I will watch my first HD movie from my Toshiba on HDMI connected to Onkyo amp, I have been only watching blue ray on PS3 to amp since I have had it.
Is the XE1 the same as PS3 for best sound for True Dolby the audio should be set to LPCM, if set to bitstream then the signal will be just DD and not multichannel.

    Appreciate your help,
    Phill

    Hi Gadjet
I have the Digital Out HDMI set to AUTO in the audio menu of the Xe1 and this will send TrueHD to your amp, also covers everything else!
But you could also set it to PCM if you want,up tp you.
    Cheers. :)

yes set it to auto, by doing this it means that if you play an hddvd the pcm audio is sent to the amp, if you watch a dvd the bitstream audio is sent for the amp and your amp will decode the dts/dd audio. If you set it to pcm the player decodes everything and sends it as pcm to the amp. For dvds i prefer my amp to do the decoding.
